The two adventurers waited patiently, studying the compound and their environment, waiting for God to give them some clue as to what happened...

My apologies. Today was a bunch of reading about the Rwandan Genocide for uni tomorrow, then I had the gym, then my cat was lonely.
When you get close enough to see the Palace its obvious the place is in a state of high alert after the shooting. The main entrance is now manned by a number of guards, all with long arms in their hands, and you can see some attempt has been made to form a barricade with crates and a speeder bike. The average IQ of the guards is displayed in the workmanship, but it gets the point across that now isn't a time for visitors. The pathways nearby have been cleared of people an there are signs of the nearby homes having been ransacked. Likely by the guards looking for the shooter.
Surveying the scene together you're able to pick out a route that would give you a decent view of the side entrance Alaethia is aiming for, but getting to it will require being in sight of the entrance guards. Alert as they may be they don't seem the most trained bunch and you feel like there is a chance you could get by them without drawing too much attention to yourselves if you're lucky.

Ah, I see. Your evil cat overlord demanded your undivided servitude. I can accept that.
====================
"Whatever you decide to do, make it quick. I'm going in." Alaethia smiles, pulling the hood of her new cloak over her head. With any luck, the fact she's wearing a different cloak not covered in rubble might buy her a few seconds if she is spotted.
She grumbles under her breath about the lack of explosives and makes a mental note to purchase some at the first opportunity.
But how to get in?
She thinks for a second, removes a glow stick from her backpack and turns it on, aiming to throw it through the window of a recently sacked house. She aims for one of the houses that looks in the opposite direction of the side entrance.
Once that is done, she will attempt to slip as quickly and as quietly as she can through the side entrance and then take shelter behind the nearest crate or vehicle so she can reassess the situation inside the compound.
So far, so good. Almost all according to plan. With any luck, the earlier commotion would have drawn more guards from inside out, making it easier to get around inside.
She doubts Tor Kirin's stealth and subtleness skills, given his approach to getting in was to walk up to the front gate armed.
Still, no time for doubt.

Tor Kirin can take a leisurely stroll over if he wishes given he critted the check.
Aleathia's glow stick sails cleanly through the window she was aiming for and the building starts to emit an eery glow. As she walks towards the side entrance she can see the guads stood there haven't left to investigate, but are all clumped over to one side staring at the building. Another small group of men walks through the entrance presently and begins to make their way over to the house. While they're distracted Alaethia manages to slip past the sentries and settle behind a crate inside the compound that appears to have been abandoned.
At this point both of you have a clear view of the courtyard area of the Palace and can see its mostly empty at this point. A few guards are still around grouped in small clusters of twos and threes talking in low voices. The Palace itself seems strangely quiet and you can make out very little movement through the windows or the main entrance. The place appears to be on lockdown as it were.

"Well, it's alright for some." Alaethia thinks to herself.
It won't take long for the guards to realise it's just a glow stick. She needs to hurry inside.
She frowns. Just because the courtyard is mostly empty, doesn't mean the building inside will be. But most the guards appear content to talk to themselves. Could be an opportunity.
For a brief moment, she ponders if she should climb into a crate. But there's no telling what would happen if she did.
She decides on a course of action.
As quietly and swiftly as she can manage, she'll do her best to scoot up to the building and carefully check some of the locks and windows. At the first door or window that appears to be unlocked that she can find, she will attempt to quietly slip inside.

As the Star Wars universe if f'ing weird, the ground floor windows are all basically holes. So just the first window you come to?

I did a roll to decide what would be on the other side and I'm disappointed it wasn't a low number.
You both manage to creep over to the nearest window and climb/fall through it without being noticed by any of the people in the yard. The room you entered appears to be a small kitchen-type area but there's no one working in it. The heat in the room and the mess on the surfaces tell you it was emptied in a hurry when the Palace went into a state of alarm. The room has two exits: At the far end of the room is a simple door, and to your left is another door with what you guess is a serving hatch next to it

Alaethia picks herself up and dusts herself off, carefully making sure to keep the window closed.
First things first, she does a quick scan of the area to see if there are any uniforms to "borrow".
Next, she looks for something small with a reflective surface she can use - she hopes for a mirror, but even a large spoon would do.
With that done, she heads to the door at the far end of the room. She presses her ear to it so she can listen for any guards before she carefully opens the door.
She looks at Tor Kirin.
"Which way are you going?".

No uniforms as such sadly. There's a few towels around and an apron but that's all you can find in your quick scavenge. Not much call for mirrors in the kitchen either but there's plenty of spoons, and a frying pan with a rather shiny surface. There's bits of food and other serving and food preparing bits and bobs laying about the place as well.
Pressing your ear to the door you can hear muted voices. You can't make out the words but the voices are chattery and excited. One of them sounds female, assuming it's humanoid at least.

Alaethia sighs and pockets one of the larger spoons. She then puts on the apron and grabs every towel in the kitchen.
She motions to Tor Kirin, whispering.
"There are people outside. Get ready in case things go wrong".
She takes a deep breath and opens the door, holding the towels up high and attempting to cover as much of her face as she can.
"Stupid muppet, spilling the drinks in the kitchen. Gotta get these cleaned now..." she grumbles to herself.
