iz back from trip. tor kirin goes berserk and bludgeons the guard to death with the butt of his rifle before trying to stabilize alaethia somehow* (although i have to say that it's a quaint idea to have a guy with a sniper rifle close the distance to finish someone off in the first place ) *possibly failing miserably

Consider him bludgeoned. I like the idea of you beating him with the rifle so violently you end up just hitting the floor and weeping uncontrollably then turning round with a "right, the twi'lek!"
You actually got a crit on the heal check. Combining that with backstory stuff I'm going to say you actually have some rudimentary healing ability. Nothing special, but something akin to a combat medic. Takes the sting out of not having a healer too as going back to proper towns every time one of you goes down would be a pain in the arse. You'll just have harder checks.
But anyway! Alaethia gets to regain consciousness, albeit still badly hurt.

Alaethia groans and cradles her head, sitting up carefully.
"Thanks", she whispers hoarsely to Tor Kirin.
She leaves Tor Kirin to treat the Chiss and moves to the door.
"You're going to have to change clothes for you and the chiss", she whispers to Tor Kirin.
She pulls the door to and peeps through the crack to see if there is any movement outside.

Tor Kirin manages to stop the worst of the chiss bleeding but he still seems to flit between unconsciousness and delirious consciousness. You feel confident he's not going to die any time soon, but he's been at the Palace's mercy too long and his wounds are beyond your knowledge and skill.
At the door Alaethia can't see anybody clearly, but the sounds of shouting have quietened and as the lull in shooting stretches on you can hear doors being opened and the start of whispering voices. Down the far end of the hallway opposite the way you entered you can start to hear footsteps coming in your direction.

"Shit," Alaethia whispers to Tor Kirin.
"They're coming! Disguises - now!"
She waits for whoever is walking to come closer before she will open the door, acting as flustered and frightened as she can. She will babble incoherently and attempt to fake cry, pointing and weeping whilst muttering about "gangs".

does there seem to be enough time to try to jury rig some disguises from the dead peeps' uniforms? if so, tor kirin will try to do so. even if not, he'll see if any of the guards had thermal detonators or similar grenades, and pocket them.

In a rush and OOC: I imagine you could steal their disguises, but this IS just after you finished killing them. I imagine blasters cauterise wounds but most of them were killed by slugs. I was just goinbg to be a prick and let you make disguises and be instantly spotted, but instead I have to ask if you can think of a convincing reason, in character or out, why those uniforms shouldn't be covered in holes and blood?

was thinking along those lines too, but it does let us not be immediately recognized, for enough time to pew pew their faces off.

Fair one. I mean...the guys are at the end of what is a fairly long hallway. There wasn't anything stopping you shouldering the chiss and bugging the fuck out instead of hanging around to see if you can fight the entirety of a Hutt palace Thursdays are mental with uni and I'm typing this walking between lecture buildings. Will do the story update this evening.

OOC: Bugging out it what I was angling for. Did you tell us if there's a back door in the room or a window we can bundle out of?
If not (or if I haven't checked) I will do that now.

Not down here. These rooms are underground as a way of keeping the decently large serving staff out of the way. It just happened to also be a good place to torture someone without visitors noticing.
Tor Kirin manages to switch clothes with one of the smaller, less bloodied guards. Made for a larger build, the extra folds do a decent job of hiding the holes in the torso (damn you high check rolls finally happening) although there is still a noticeable amount of blood staining the fabric. While pilfering the uniform he rather expertly pats the bodies down. No grenades sadly, but a hundred credits find their way into your kit. There's also the option of pinching one of their blasters or the hitty stick. Neither look like much but they're there if you want them.
The guards in the hallway (you can see 2 rather serious looking Trandoshans) have been slowed by the steady stream of servants pushing past them in the opposite direction. Some, likely those with a bit more time in the palace, are just looking to get as far away from the shooting scene as possible. Others are crying and one or two throw themselves at the guards looking for some sense of security. Those are roughly pushed aside. As they catch sight of Alaethia and hear her cries they pick up the pace and start bodily moving people out of the way.

"Heads up, they're coming" Alaethia whispers. She opens the door then immediately attempts to slip through the crowd of servants into one of the side rooms and see what is in there. OOC: Because I'm a queen of stealth shenanigans. And if I'm caught, I want this to be my first reaction: www.reactiongifs.us/shocked-owl/

Fuck it, its been a day. Have an update.
Alaethia attempts to sneak across to the next room but by this point the rushing serveants have thinned out and the guards are close enough to notice her trying to sneak away. One grabs her strongly by the elbow and pulls her back as the other reaches the door to the room with Tor Kirin in. He notices the blood and the body of the Chiss on the floor and half raises his blaster but seems caught off guard by the uniform. With the guard just outside the door, Tor Kirin is blocking most of the view inside the room and the corpses are hidden from the guard's line of sight.
Naturally enough, they ask you what the balls has happened.
Also a question. So far I've been telling you when rolls have gone well or badly. Is that something you'd rather keep in so you can see where I've used those checks, or do they detract from the roleplay element and you'd rather just get the story updates?
