OoC: With my charisma?
Yeah, might as well give it a try.

Well it lets me roll a thing. And I'm trying to drag this out to give Philo a chance to join you if he ever replies

Moderate DC, scored an 8 so that's a fail. I think Sloth was actually rolling a legit D20 but I'm using Wizards' roller for everything. Just so you know McLafferty looks at. She reaches for her drink and takes a swig before she replies. Her previous polite expression having been replaced by one of brusque formality.
"I'll be frank with you. What you're retrieving is none of your concern. There'll be zero risk. A caravan from the Followers delivering aid to a town under siege will suffer far less scrutiny than one of my own. That's the only reason I'm offering this job to the two of you. In return, there'll be a great deal of Caps and perhaps, if you do it well, more work for you in the future."
She waves a hand at one of her men, and he deposits two sacks on the table with a clanking thud.
"There's 1000 Caps in each of those. A quarter of what will be waiting for you when you return with my delivery. 5000 Caps, and the gratitude of the Crimson Caravan Company all for dropping off a package, and bringing one back. That's all there is to it."

OoC: Wanna wait to see if Fish has anything to add to the conversation. I'd like to get some more answers, maybe he has better luck.

Yeah I'm trying to hit a balance with the two of you. The time zones don't help. I can tell you that Fishy has a lot worse charisma though. If you meant literally luck, then its not going to be a prop for other stats. The combat modifier is that main thing it was there to help and it will be entirely arbitrary where I decide to let it effect normal things

I certainly hope not. I spent a good few seconds on it. 3 guesses how you'll be wedged into the story from here

A little taken aback by his companion's eagerness, Will glares at Boniface. He stands up, picks up the sack and says, "anything else we need to know?".

"One small thing. The man you're travelling with, Chet, he can't know about this. He's a good man, but he believes in the Followers to a fault. He'll never agree to allow arms into an aid mission
"Other than that, only that I wish you luck and look forward to future business with you."

The meeting clearly over, you are led outside and shown to a few boxes that have been placed on a small trailer outside while you were talking. The boxes are unremarkable in every way and you can't tell anything about their contents just by looking. The trailer is hitched up to a brahmin, and with a Crimson Caravan driver leading the brahmin, you begin the walk to catch up with Chet.
You find him a short distance from where you left him, near a small traders stall. His brahmin has been freed of its burden and is nuzzling happily at a bucket of food. A dog you presume belongs to the trader attempts to slowly walk to the bucket himself occasionally but turns away with a whine when the beast stares at him. Chet himself is a short distance from the stall, talking animatedly with another leather clad figure. You can't see a Crimson badge on him, but you do see he is heavily armed. A rifle is hung across his back and a shortened shotgun rests in a holster at one side of his belt while a ripper handle protrudes from the other. As they talk you see a small ED-E bot hovering from one side of the pair to the other. As you near you realise "talking" is a lot closer to "arguing" and that Chet is clearly upset.
