"Chet we can't let anyone get their hands on these. McLafferty's out of her mind, you know this isn't right." Stan turns and sees several the party approaching "…This can wait."
Meanwhile the ED-E burbles away "PAK CHOOIE UNF REGISTRY ERROR PLEASE INPUT ONE CAT."

Sorry for lack of updates today, zero threw a wrench in my plans with that post and I've had to work out where to go from here. Stan will have to hope he can be very persuasive at least.
Update when I get home

First, public apology to zero. last post sounded a bit dicky and I didn't mean it as a dig, only as an explanation. All in all I quite like having my plans interfered with otherwise being a DM is a bit dull Onto plot! William and Boniface see Chet say something in reply but are out of earshot. He eyes the Crimson man and his brahmin with outright hostility before half attempting to mask it as he gestures towards Stan. "This is Stan. I'm told he'll be coming to Novac with us. Can't say I'm not thankful for another rifle. Trader here says they've been hearing more gunshots of late, and the NCR had a patrol running around a few hours ago."He pauses a moment before saying "so, either of you want to tell me what that's about?" He asks, pointing at the trailer now being unhitched by the Caravan driver. And the dog humps Boniface's leg.Quick suggestions: Any introduciton you guys want to make to each other,or not, feel free. I'm being non-specific with this trader but its a set trading stall with a few tables so anything you want to grab before you set off properly, now would be the time.

"Howdy fellas. Say this is going to be a swell run, I reckon. You guys make it look like I won't have to do any shooting at all. Don't tell Chet though. Then he won't pay me."

boniface shakes the dog off, not killing it because he belings to his boss.
"[to stan] extra meat in a fight is always good. [to chet] mclafferty's sending extra stuff appended to your caravan as a side job for us. talk to her if you want compensation yourself.

Will nods at Stan. "Maybe we should just get moving, we don't need to be out here anymore time than necessary".
Ooc: can we see what the trader has to sell?

You could, or I could pretend to have a list and you could pretty much have what you want.
Will update story after training. Have no fear, shooting will finally happen.

(Your luck came in handy Zero )
Shopping done and cart hitched up to Chet's brahmin (who needs a name. Open to suggestions) you begin to make your way out of the relatively urban area of New Vegas and further into the Wasteland. The news from the trader about hearing shots proves to be true and as you walk you hear intermittent bits of sporadic gunfire. At one point the sound of an explosion close by causes you to drop to the road and draw your weapons but, after waiting a time, you decide to move on. The shots slow down as the day ebbs away and you continue along the route. As the sun starts to dip you realise you'll soon need to find a place to camp for the night and allow your brahmin some rest. You know that not too far along this route is an established NCR rest stop, but you're unsure if you'd be able to make it before night falls. It would be the safest place to spend the night most likely, but travelling in the dark may prove unwise given the skirmishes you've been hearing all day. Nearer, further out on in the desert off the path, you can see the crumbled remains of what looks like an old farmhouse. Likely belonging to an old group of settlers who since either packed up and moved, possibly to one of the NCR sharecropper farms, or had a less pleasant fate. Either is as likely as the other in this place.
You pause to discuss plans for camp. Chet goes to check the wagon's straps and leaves the decision to you three.

"The skirmishes are shots from people like us. Folks that don't do well in the dark. There's worse out here at night I bet."

"I think it would be best if we push for the camp. We'll be out in the dark for a while, but if we stop in the farm house we'll have little protection for the whole night".

Decision made, you continue along the road pushing towards the rest stop. The sunlight fades quickly now but between Stan's pipboy and ED-E's torch you're able to maintain a general sense of your immediate surroundings. After a short time you're able to make out the shape of a small bridge in the distance that you know to be the rest stop's location. The noise of gunshots has almost entirely stopped with the onset of darkness and the area around you seems still. Occasionally you pick up an odd scratching or clicking sound but are unable to see anything as you peer into the night.
You close on to the rest stop without incident (damn bandit sniper and his horrible dice rolling -grumble- -grumble-) and can now see small campfires and a dot of torches marking where sentries are standing guard. Before you can reach it however, Bonniface and Stan both hear another set of clicking sounds and turn to look back down the road. The Ed-E bot hovers further out and its torch illuminates a pack of giant ants a short distance back. You note three smaller ones scurrying across the road ,antennae twitching as they track your scent, and one larger ant walking behind them.There. Since the bandits I had planned apparently suck, you can shoot ants instead Not going to bother with initiatives for this one so do your thing.
